Comment nettoyer le capteur de son appareil photo reflex numérique
Ce tutoriel vous apprendra une méthode simple, sécuritaire et peu couteuse pour nettoyer le capteur de votre appareil photo numérique de type reflex. Plusieurs méthodes plus ou moins farfelues ou dangereuses circulent sur le Web. Je vais vous enseigner une technique fiable qui est celle que j’utilise depuis quelques années et qui est utilisée aussi par plusieurs professionnels. Évidemment, je n’offre aucune garantie, car si la manipulation est mal exécutée, le risque d’endommager son appareil photo est réel.
Si vous prenez votre temps et que vous êtes dans un état d’esprit détendu, vous ne devriez pas avoir de problème. Sachez que confier cette tâche à un professionnel n’est pas très dispendieux (15-20 $). Dans mon cas, ce n’était simplement qu’une question d’efficacité de pouvoir le faire la veille d’une séance de photo, même en dehors des heures d’ouverture.
Clarifions un dernier détail avant de commencer, j’utilise le terme nettoyage du capteur dans ce billet, mais sachez que ce n’est pas réellement le capteur lui-même que l’on nettoie ici, mais bien le filtre qui est par-dessus le capteur.
Vous aurez besoin des articles suivants :
- Une boîte de papier de « qualité laboratoire» : 7 $ pour 280 feuilles
Ce type de papier a la qualité d’être non abrasif et de ne laisser aucune particule lors de son utilisation. Il est souvent utilisé en laboratoire pour nettoyer les microscopes. C’est le même papier que vous trouver dans un ensemble pour nettoyer vos lentilles. Je ne sais pas où vous référer pour en trouver, moi je l’ai acheté de mon réparateur d’appareil photo, et avec une boîte vous en avez pour plusieurs années. Si vous avez des suggestions d’endroits où trouver ce papier, elles seront les bienvenues.
- Une spatule pour glacer les gâteaux: 5 $
votre outil de base et vous devrez faire quelques recherches pour trouver la bonne. Il faut éviter les minispatules dans les boutiques à 1 $, puisque la partie flexible est faite de plastique cheap et trop rigide. Il faut aussi éviter les spatules trop grosses ou trop lourdes. Une spatule avec un manche de bois peu aussi bien faire, l’important c’est que le manche qui tient le bout de la spatule ne soit pas trop large (exemple x rouge), sinon il sera encombrant.Ensuite, vous devez découper le bout flexible de votre spatule pour obtenir la bonne largeur. La largeur parfaite pour les capteurs full frame, tel le canon 5D, est de
14 mm, et celle pour les capteurs plus petits est de 11 mm. Mais ce n’est qu’une préférence personnelle, vous pouvez aussi essayer la pleine largeur de votre capteur.
- Une pipette compte-gouttes pour bébé: gratuit
Disponible dans toutes les pharmacies. Dans mon cas ma pharmacienne me l’a donné. - Une bouteille d’alcool isopropylique 70% : 8$
Aussi disponible à la pharmacie du coin. - Une paire de ciseaux
- Un petit élastique
Vous pouvez aussi utiliser des gants de type examen médical, sans poudre, que vous trouverez aussi à la pharmacie.
Étape 1 : Vérifier la propreté de votre capteur
La méthode la plus simple : créez un fond blanc dans Photoshop que vous mettrez plein écran, pour ensuite photographier votre écran à la plus petite ouverture permise par votre lentille (ex. : F32). Vous pouvez prendre 2 ou 3 photos que vous conserverez sur votre carte mémoire.
Assurez-vous qu’il n’y a pas de saleté sur votre écran ou votre lentille. Une fois les photos prises, dans votre application de développement Raw, vous pouvez augmenter la valeur de l’exposition et les noirs, et enlever la saturation. Cela vous donnera une bonne idée de l’état de saleté de votre capteur. Vous pouvez aussi photographier un ciel bleu sans nuages ou une feuille blanche.
Étape 2 : La préparation de votre outil
Découpez le papier en forme de carré, puis repliez les deux coins opposés pour former un triangle que vous placez autour de votre spatule. Puis, repliez le côté gauche vers la droite et le côté droit vers la gauche. Par la suite, enroulez le petit élastique autour du papier pour bien le tenir en place. Encore mieux, vous pouvez utiliser du papier collant pour qu’il tienne bien en place.
(!) Le papier a été déposé sur la table pour vous montrer son format approximatif, mais ne commettez pas cette erreur. Vous devez éviter tout contact de la partie du papier qui servira à nettoyer le capteur, incluant vos doigts, la table ou l’élastique. Cette surface doit rester vierge!
Étape 3 : La préparation de votre espace de travail
Placez votre appareil photo sur un trépied et installez une lampe juste au-dessus afin de vous assurer de bien voir la surface verte de votre capteur. Trouvez une position qui vous permettra d’être à l’aise. Ce n’est pas évident, puisqu’il y a toujours un côté ombragé si la lampe n’est pas directement au-dessus. Vous pouvez aussi nettoyer l’intérieur de l’abat-jour de la lampe si vous prenez ce type de lampe, question d’éviter que des particules tombent dans votre appareil, une fois la lentille enlevée.
Soyez très attentif aux prochaines étapes, l’ordre d’exécution est important.
Avant de passer à l’étape suivante, assurez-vous d’avoir une batterie à pleine charge dans votre boitier, sinon vous risquez d’endommager le miroir qui se ferme automatiquement si votre appareil photo tombe hors tension. Si le miroir se referme lorsque votre spatule est à l’intérieur de votre boîtier, vous endommagerez votre miroir.
Mettez un peu d’alcool isopropylique dans votre compte-gouttes. Puis, vous devez tenir votre spatule à la verticale et déposer qu’une seule goutte de liquide sur le papier. Cette opération est très importante et doit être faite minutieusement, car la majorité des bris de capteur sont causés par le surplus de liquide qui peut s’insérer entre le filtre infrarouge et le capteur, un blogueur en a fait la fâcheuse expérience ici.

Une fois votre papier imbibé, continuez à tenir votre spatule à la verticale afin de faciliter la dispersion du liquide. Puis, activez la fonction « Nettoyage capteur » de votre appareil photo et retirez la lentille du boitier. Le fait de réaliser ces étapes dans le bon ordre laisse le temps au liquide de bien se disperser. Mais n’attendez pas trop, car le papier sèchera et il doit rester suffisamment de liquide pour effectuer le nettoyage.
Étape 4 : La grande opération
Vous êtes maintenant prêt à nettoyer le capteur de votre boitier. Vous ne faites qu’un seul passage avec le même papier.
Donc, comme illustré sur le petit schéma plus bas, vous commencez du point 1 vers le point 2 en appuyant légèrement. Puis, vous passez du point 2 au 3, sans faire de rotation, en ligne droite, et en prenant bien soin de passer jusqu’au bord du capteur pour bien couvrir toute la surface. Rendu au point 3, vous revenez dans le sens inverse vers le point 4, pour finalement remonter vers le point 1, toujours sans rotation. Puis, vous arrêtez là.
Il est interdit de repasser à nouveau avec le même papier, puisqu’il est maintenant souillé.
Une fois la spatule retirée, vous coupez l’alimentation de votre boitier pour permettre au miroir de se refermer, puis vous remettez la lentille en place.
Étape 5: Vérification du résultat
Pour vérifier le résultat de votre dernier passage, vous reprenez une autre série de photos de votre écran, comme indiqué à l’étape 1, et vous pouvez comparer l’avant et l’après avec les photos déjà présentes sur votre carte mémoire. Si vous n’êtes pas satisfait du résultat, vous pouvez recommencer l’opération, en utilisant toujours un papier neuf à chaque fois. Je vous conseille de ne pas trop vous acharner, question de ne pas vous placer dans la même situation que le blogueur mentionné plus haut. Il faut en moyenne 2 à 3 passes pour obtenir un bon résultat, dépasser 3, vous devriez abandonner pour cette fois. Il restera toujours quelques poussières, mais le but est d’enlever les particules les plus visibles. En plus, plus l’ouverture de votre lentille sera grande, moins les saletés seront visibles sur vos photos.
Et voici le résultat final, ce qui sera parfait pour ma prochaine séance de photo, même s’il reste quelques taches. N’oubliez pas que l’ouverture est à sa plus grande valeur et que les contrastes sont exagérés pour mettre en valeur les imperfections.

Bonjour Gil, simple question de préférence personnelle. J’ai fait plusieurs tests de largeur, dont une qui prenait toute la largeur du capteur, et j’en suis revenu à ce format. En faite elle permet de ce déplacer verticalement rendu aux extrémités, là où plusieurs de saletés s’accumulent.
Donc ce n’est pas une vérité absolue.

Merci pour les liens. Pour le liquide Eclipse il semble y avoir deux versions du liquide selon le modèle d’appareil photo. Donc, il faut porter attention à ce détail, mais l’alcool isopropylique 70 % fonctionne aussi très bien.

Avec un ionisateur, il démagnétise les poussières pour simplement les aspirer par la suite. Aucun contact direct avec le capteur. Quand pensez-vous ?
Je ne connais pas très cette méthode, et je ne l’ai jamais essayé, alors je peux difficilement la commenter, mais ça semble fonctionner. Mais dès qu’il y un contact avec une surface, il y a abrasion, et le liquide sert de lubrifiant, en plus de permettre d’être plus efficace dans certaines saletés plus tenaces.

Je crois que c’est la photo avec le X rouge qui porte à confusion, et qui est un peu trop affirmative, puisque ce n’est qu’une question de préférence personnelle. Vous ne risquez rien de plus si vous utilisez la pleine largeur de votre capteur, pour ne faire qu’un aller-retour sans déplacement vertical. Moi j’ai préféré une grandeur plus petite pour avoir fait plusieurs tests.
Pour le résultat, dès que j’ai deux minutes je l’ajouterai, l’image est toujours présente dans ma carte mémoire.
